Is it true that Russian ladies are cold and aloof?
There has appeared an opinion among American men about Russian ladies that they are cold, aloof and careful and they are not to be blamed for this. Russian life is not easy at all, all men are drunkards and Russian women have to survive somehow. A lot of Western men are of the same opinion. Is it true?
We should begin with the fact that unlike the wide spread belief Russia does not take the first place in the work in using alcohol and besides is it far from the first one. The thing is that the streets and the society in drank state and a lot of ill considered worded spoken in it have less consequences in Russia then in the USA. People have no need to hide and drink alone at their homes. Alcoholics in Russia are in full view. As far as standard of life is concerned it is really lower in Russia as in the developed countries but not to the greatest extend and the question of survival is not of such importance.
The belief about self-control and anxiety of Russian girls has been formed by man who tried to communicate with them using different dating sites. The thing is that the Internet is not so widely spread and it is not the method of communication and contact as it is in other Western countries. This is reason of this method of dating to have so much tension. Another problem is the low level of English of many Russian ladies that creates a lot of discomfort for them. Do not forget about the “iron curtain” hanging for years depriving Russian people from the Western world and it lead to the rough idea of mentality, moral ethics values and norms of communication with people from other countries. It can be referred to Russian people living abroad.
A lot of Russian brides dating with the help of the Internet do really seem aloof and anxious. You can see short and standard phrases in their profiles and letters and they delay with their replies thinking for a long time about them. Russian girls do not do it on purpose because of their character traits but the reason is the lack of experience and practice in communication with people from other countries. They are really scared to be interpreted in the wrong way, to be seen in the wrong light and to hurt man’s feelings by their words.
They are eager to communicate having at the same time fear to lose what they have found. In real life Russian ladies and men are sincere and open, sociable and emotional. It is a wide spread thing for a Russian lady to tell her innermost feelings to the almost unknown person, they can openly speak about their desires, dreams, wishes and problems. In Russia psychologist are not needed as people talk about their problems with each other and they always have someone to listen to their sores and give them a way out and help. Psychologists are needed in the places where people suppress and hide their feelings.
